Mark Schwartz is an employment tax specialist with over 25 years as a payroll tax collector, payroll tax auditor, and payroll tax consultant. He is also a current payroll processor and advisor to clients on a multitude of payroll and hr related issues.
Mark's expertise is in the IRS payroll tax field. He understands completely the multitude of problems and confusion of Federal payroll tax matters. He helps all clients in understanding exactly what matters to their business. He helps them navigate the electronic compliance waters - steering their boats to the appropriate ports and even assisting where he can.
Mark has spent most of his years in California. He has many webinars designed for compliance in California. California is one of the most regulated states in all of the United States. There are several instances where California Rules and Regulations conflict with Federal Rules and Regulations. This can result in having to report one way in California, and a different way to the IRS. Mark will guide you through those treacherous waters and help free you of fear.
Mark has a master's degree from Santa Clara University. He has a magnetic personality that not only gains trust in his clients, but builds long term relationships. Mark lets his audience members contact him for life if they attend one of his live audio conferences.
This webinar has been approved for 1.50 California recertification credit hours toward PHRca® through HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®). Please make note of the activity ID number on your recertification application form. Why Should You Attend
The responsibility to implement and notify employers of many laws lies with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Employers need to review new laws every year, modify their operations as directed, and review the wider aspects of employment law that they affect. So join Mark Schwartz for the 2025 Wage and Hour Laws version of this webinar. Learn what assembly bills have affected these areas for 2025:
- The Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) – Reform
- Freelance Worker Protection Act
- Minimum Wage: Fast Food Industry (AB 610)
- Minimum Wage: Health Care Workers Delay (SB 828)5)
Topic Background
The state of California has been administered under a Democratic “super-majority” for many years. Legislation in these states often grants worker wages, rights, and protections far above the Federally established minimums. In many respects, California imposes restrictions and mandates on employers that are not only expensive to comply with, but expose them to potential HR related lawsuits.
