More and more HR practitioners decide to go at it solo. Either as a consultant, a freelancer, or a fractional HR professional, but they officially say goodbye to their, sometimes decade(s) long career as an in-house HR pro.
The reasons for this HR exodus vary, but many report that HR is ‘just too much work’ and that they consider leaving. Things don’t get much better at the top either: research shows that only 40% of senior HR leaders say that they have the ambition to move into the CHRO.
